iGO Primo N. America works well for travel

Now you can rely on your iPhone to help preserve the environment when you travel. Surprised?  Well, with the iGO Primo app for your smartphone, this GPS app will actually look at multiple route options, and even if it might take a little longer, the app will give you the option to save fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.   With RDC TMS traffic monitoring, you can get an alternate route around congestion, saving you time as well as fuel. (The live traffic service is an upgrade you can purchase from within the app however.)

The app comes in three voice choices: UK and US English, Spanish and French; all in Natural or TTS voices.  Pick your choice of vehicles: car, pedestrian, bicycle, bus, taxi, emergency or truck. Sorry, picking emergency vehicle does not allow you to crash red lights.

You can also pick separate indicators for each of your cars and label them accordingly. Each car can have separate fuel mileages for city and highway, maximum speeds as well as being set for on or off-road travel.

One of my favorite features is actual distance to POI’s.  There’s nothing more frustrating than to see a good restaurant showing up in 1 mile, only to discover that it takes 30 minutes to get there. That happens when you are traveling a freeway and there’s no exit for 15 miles. With iGO Primo, you get the real scoop from where you are.

Check out iGO Primo app in the iTunes store. iGO Primo works on iPhone versions 3GS and 4G.
